The International Airport Council (ACI) recognizes airports that provide the best customer experience. This award is called the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award. In 2021, 6 airports in Indonesia won the award for the Asia Pacific region. So, here is a list of the best Indonesian airports that have received ACI’s Best Airport by Size and Region – ASQ Award.

<2 Million Passengers Per Year
For a capacity of fewer than 2 million passengers per year, there are 2 airports in Indonesia that won the award, namely:
- Pattimura International Airport, Ambon
- Sultan Thaha Airport, Jambi
2-5 Million Passengers Per Year
Then, for a capacity of 2-5 million passengers per year, two airports in Central Java Province won the award, namely:
- Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang
- Adi Soemarmo Airport, Surakarta
5-15 Million Passengers Per Year
As for the capacity of 5-15 million passengers per year, there are 3 airports that won the award, namely:
- Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, Kalimantan
- Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport Makassar
- Yogyakarta International Airport
ASQ is the only global benchmarking program that measures airport service user satisfaction using 34 key performance indicators. In 2021, more than 370,000 surveys have been collected. Based on this data, 88 airports won 111 awards in the Best Airport by Size and Region category worldwide. ACI has implemented a stringent quality control process to ensure those survey findings and benchmarking remain of the highest quality throughout the pandemic.
