Dubai is a desert city. For areas like this, when it rains, it usually comes in short and intense bursts. It’s not a typical drizzle, but a torrential rain that can flood the road in a matter of minutes. With the rapid growth of cities and extensive infrastructure will add to the potential for serious water problems.
The city’s drainage system ensures that these short but intense torrential rains will not interfere with daily life. Want to know more about this project? Here are the things you need to know about the Dubai rainwater drainage system project which has the code name “Tasreef”.
Dh30 Billion Fund
To develop the emirate’s rain drainage network, the Dubai government has prepared a fund of Dh30 billion. The project was approved in the presence of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE; and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
