Pedestrian paths, also known as sidewalks, are paths that are specifically designed to keep pedestrians safe while on the road. Sidewalks are equipped with a variety of equipment known as street furniture to improve pedestrian comfort. Garden benches are one of them. Garden benches are placed at various points along the sidewalks so that pedestrians are not confused about where to sit. It certainly makes the atmosphere shady and comfortable to sit around, especially if there are large trees planted in the sidewalk area.
The following sidewalks in Indonesia use garden benches to make pedestrians more comfortable.
1.Teluk Bayur Square, East Kalimantan
Teluk Bayur Square’s pathways are lined with custom-designed garden benches made of cast iron and wood. The garden benche’s footrest is designed like a wheel. Wooden boards make up the seat and backrest. Black, white, and brown colors are used in the garden seats at Teluk Bayur Square.

4. Sudirman Walk, Palembang
Palembang’s Sudirman Walk pedestrian path infrastructure project was completed in preparation for the XVIII Asian Games. Sudirman Walk is modeled after Singapore’s Orchard Road. Attractions from street artists and musicians are available throughout the evening. In addition, like Malioboro in Yogyakarta and Cihampelas in Bandung, the Jenderal Sudirman Street area is intended to become the mascot for Palembang.
Garden benches of the CARINA type are used in the Sudirman Walk area. Visitors to this location can sit on the garden benches provided.
Those are the four sidewalk areas where garden benches are used for the convenience of residents as well as for aesthetic purposes. To be durable and weather-resistant, garden benches must be manufactured of sturdy materials such as cast iron.
