In this pandemic era, everyone prioritizes the cleanliness and hygiene of a location or destination, right? The airport is no different. There is even an award for the best hygiene airports. So, here are the airports in Indonesia that made the top ten most hygienic airports in Asia-Pacific.
The award is called Best Hygiene Measures, and it is part of Airport Council International’s (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ). This award was given to ten airports in the Asia-Pacific region. Six airports are located in Indonesia, three in China, and one in India. The following is a list of the six Indonesian airports that received the award.
List of Indonesian airports that received the ACI Best Hygiene Measures by Region 2021 award
- Depati Amir Airport, Pangkal Pinang
- Kualanamu International Airport, Medan
- Soekarno-Hatta International Airport
- Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport, Pekanbaru
- Sultan Thaha Airport, Jambi
- Supadio Airport, Pontianak
ACI bestows the Best Hygiene Measure award on airports that have developed innovative procedures and services to meet the needs of travelers while also ensuring that the airport environment remains clean and safe in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the midst of a pandemic, every airport must be able to make adjustments, adopt new technology, and determine what to do to accommodate customer desires.
Angkasa Pura II (AP II) managed all six airports that received the award. AP II implemented a number of innovations to strengthen health protocols and keep airports clean. For the first time, these innovations were born and implemented at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. It is then implemented at other AP II airports, with adjustments made to account for local conditions.
The application of Biosecurity Management and Biosafety Management is AP II’s innovation to strengthen health protocols. Soekarno-Hatta Airport, with health protocols in accordance with regulations and global best practices, can continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even in the midst of a pandemic. Other airports continue to serve flights in order to maintain national air connectivity and help with the pandemic and national economic recovery.
Wow, that’s really cool; Indonesian airports are among the most hygienic in the Asia-Pacific region, and they were able to win ACI’s Best Hygiene Measures award. Of course, all of this is due to the hard work of airport managers as well as the cooperation of travelers who follow health protocols.
