- Insert the key into the manhole cover keyhole. Turn a quarter to lock into place. This will make it possible to lift the manhole cover safely.
- Lift the manhole cover vertically with the help of another person and place it safely on the ground next to the manhole cover opening.
- Make sure to be careful so as not to accidentally slip or fall back into the hole. Be careful when moving the manhole cover.
4 tips and tricks for opening manhole cover safely
- Loosen the cover and clean the lid. If the cover needs to be loosened, then loosen it first, and don’t forget to clean it
- Stand opposite the keyhole. Stand on the opposite side of the keyhole to utilize the hook to open the lid safely.
